FLORIDA CONNECT · FOR CONTRACTORS
By Florida Connect · Updated November 4, 2026
Quick answer: Explain your trade, service area, project fit, and next step clearly. Support your description with real work and accurate business details so a prospective customer can decide whether to contact you.
Your first sentences should answer three questions: what do you do, who do you help, and where do you work? A useful example is “We install residential pavers for patios and driveways across Palm Beach County.” Use wording that reflects your actual business. Avoid broad claims such as “the best in Florida” when you cannot substantiate them.
Choose photos that show the kinds of work you want customers to request. For each project, explain the starting problem, scope, and completed result. A bathroom remodel might describe a layout improvement and the finishes installed. Identify the city only when appropriate and permitted. Get permission before publishing customer homes, names, or identifying details.
Core services and the project types you accept.
The cities or counties you genuinely serve.
A public phone number and working website.
Your preferred way to receive project enquiries.
Any estimate or assessment process customers should expect.
Do not advertise a service or location simply because it might attract traffic. An accurate service area helps avoid enquiries that your team cannot serve.
Use the correct business and license-holder names when describing applicable credentials. Keep supporting information current. Do not imply that directory membership means Florida Connect has verified a license, insurance, background, or workmanship. Customers should independently verify the qualifications required for their specific project.
Tell people what to send with their first enquiry: city, project type, approximate timing, and a short description. If photos would help, explain how to share them through your own contact process. Do not request payment details or sensitive documents in an initial public enquiry.
“[Business name] provides [core service] for [customer or property type] in [actual service area]. Our work includes [two or three specific project types]. To discuss a project, contact us at [public business contact] with your city, project details, and preferred timing.”
Check the profile on a phone. Test its contact links, confirm that the category fits your trade, and read the description aloud. Correct outdated details promptly. A clear profile supports the decision to contact you; it does not guarantee leads or project awards.
